Following an initial consultation, ED-UK worked with their in-house team and produced a heat map survey, identifying the areas needed and delivering a report using the building layout. In this scenario we had to consider the age of the building. Midland House is over 150 years old and was used in the past by the National Rail and more recently as a school.

This was advantageous to us all as we were able to use, test and commission some existing CAT 6 and Fibre cabling. This assisted in speeding up the process, as we were mindful that this had to be completed to a deadline in order to meet the increase in government vaccination efforts during the summer of 2021.

A cisco dual controller solution with high availability was deployed along with Cisco Access points and was then presented to the in-house team to configure their own SSID’s.

Upon completion a full user acceptance test was successful and all configuration files and documentation were handed over to the NHS Trust.

From a company perspective, this was a great achievement for us all to be involved in providing a technical solution that supported the government roll out of the vaccine.
